In 2011, after attending UCLA on an achievement scholarship, I founded SurePod Corporation and GenesisPhone with my co-founder, Steve.

Star Trek, my mother and grandmother were sources of inspiration in creating the product.   SurePod, a mini cellphone for the down-market, functioned as a delivery mechanism for concierge and emergency services over the cellular network. The 1st gen cellphone was a Connected Conference 2012 winner and investor funded including Semyon Dukach, MD of Techstars in Boston.

I created, negotiated and managed the supply chain locally and bootstrapped the smart device for 100k, working with an engineering team and several contract manufacturers in Shenzhen. Working in parallel my co-founder, Steve and I pre-sold the national dealer network, built the backend infrastructure and managed our big four carrier relationships.

Yves Behar’s designer and I developed the 2nd gen prototype with an LCD screen, GenesisPhone. With the help of our medical alarm dealers, we attacked our 1st vertical, delivered product to a $300+ million market.
