Research

My research examines the intersection of accuracy, transferability, and trust in algorithmic lending across emerging financial ecosystems. Rather than use simulations, I study scoring systems in active production to understand how they navigate shifting consumer behaviors, scale into new geographic markets, and safely underwrite populations that conventional data overlooks. The work grows out of operating licensed consumer lending in the Philippines and Vietnam, with a research partnership in Nigeria.

Applicable to every industry that must learn continuously about the people it serves: hiring, insurance, admissions, banking and beyond.

Algorithmic Decay and Transferability

Measuring the conditions under which algorithmic credit decision systems degrade in emerging markets, and which operational responses restore performance. Working paper in preparation.
